AZAP Couriers deliver far and wide, servicing Canterbury all the way through to the deep south. Established in 2015, the business now has 11 staff members, as well as owners Sharon and Mike who are very much involved in the runnings of the business to this day – you may even catch them on some delivery runs. When discussing business with AZAP they shared their ethos around reliability to their customers; “if we say we’re going to do it, we do it, that’s very important to us”. Sharon and Mike also value their staff, saying they would never ask them to do something they wouldn’t do themselves. AZAP initially implemented Fleetpin for their truck that treks from Christchurch to Dunedin six nights a week – they wanted to make sure that the driver was safe and that they were able to locate the truck if it ever broke down. Sharon calls Fleetpin “a bloody godsend”, as one of the challenges they often faced was their drivers trying to describe where they were, and having difficulty identifying their exact location. Now there is no need to ask, they can simply use Fleetpin’s Tracking View. A great example of this was when they received a call from their driver who had gotten as far as Waitati but couldn’t go any further due to heavy snow. They were able to locate and find a better route for the driver, from their office. Over a year on, AZAP have installed Fleetpin’s GPS devices across their entire fleet of delivery vehicles as “it makes a huge difference to our day-to-day runnings”, Sharon explains. It is very common for AZAP to receive a last minute call from a customer asking if they can do a delivery on short notice, and using Fleetpin, the admin team can see where their drivers are and allocate the job efficiently. This is a daily occurrence for AZAP, and it helps them to be able to go the extra mile for their customers and do so efficiently.
